as compared to many LSU teams in the past is something pointed out by Richt yesterday:“I haven’t seen one guy loaf yet. I haven’t seen one guy tired yet,”. You long-time fans should remember that for many years LSU was known by many to have a problem with players taking plays off. Had a friend who was involved with Alabama football in the '80s who said it was common knowledge among SEC players and coaches. That simply does not happen now. Add to that the ridiculous depth and it creates an unstoppable team. It's great to see.

Another is that we haven't played down to the competition. We just play our game regardless of the opponent.

Scheduling Oregon was the best thing that could have happened to this team. The preparation for that game made this team so focused, so strong, and so fast! It's helped them dominate teams in the second half. Hell, even Bama was quitting at the end of the game.

here's what i notice. this defense is never phased. they don't care about giving up a big play here and there. they have that swag that says that was a fluke.

and they are so damn fast big plays seldom make it into the endzone. i have seen many plays they gave up which would've been touchdowns against anyone else, but lsu runs them down at the 30.

So true.

And the synergy. This team redefines "momentum".

I said before the Arkansas game that the one thing that worried me is that this team had not faced the challenge of really playing from behind. After the quick start by Arkansas and LSU's subsequent recovery, I am no longer concerned with that.

I think it was Pat Forde who wrote a few days ago that "never has a team so physically talented played so hard." or something like that.

what I've noticed is that all 3 phases have the ability to pick the other phases up when there is a letdown. LSU's offense needed to go on a long TD drive to rest the defense Friday and stop the bleeding when it was 14-0 piggies. And they did that.

The defense had to pick up Brad Wing at Bama after a rare lousy punt.

Then later Wing returned the favor and flipped the field with that 73-yarder.

To me this is the only deciding factor between the 07' team and this team.

the competition for PT on this team is tremendous. You cannot let up b/c you have a freshman or sophomore breathing down your neck. This team is built on the principle of tough competition at practice. The best team LSU first teamers have seen is the Second Team at practice, every day. Hence why we are blowing out people.

We are so damn deep at every position.

Injuries don't matter. Suspensions don't matter.

The backup QB can win eight games.

Not only that, but all 3 phases also seem to step it up when another phase is outplaying them, which is why we keep throwing up these 21 point bursts in 4 minutes spans.

This. Usually had to worry about LSU playing down to competition or someone loafing costing us a big play.

This team this year comes to play and to dominate!
