I know, I know, this has been talked about so much and there doesn't need to be another thread about it. But for clarification, is OK state's advantage in the computer polls so big over Bama that simply a win over oklahoma puts them in? or do they need to beat Oklahoma convincingly and then get some voter help to get in? Or is Bama in regardless? TIA

Greed over not wanting SEC to get both shares of pot keeps bama out! Provided OSU beats OU.

I didn't realize their game was next week. That might make a difference. As the CBS talking head said, "Bama's hay is in the barn."

Will the voters want to see LSU Bama again, or a conference champion with the same record? It could get real interesting. Go Pokes!

Voters are 2/3 of the formula so have to get some help from the polls no matter the computer rankings.

I don't care. LSU will easily handle either of them.

They'll have to win and get a solid amount of voters to vote them above Bama and virtually all voters to move them to at least 3. In order to do that they would have to beat Oklahoma easily and have some voters be voting against a rematch. Not going to happen.

The computers have loved the Big 12 this season. Ok. State is #2 in 6 of 8 computers, I think that's what I remember reading. Bama is #2 in 4 of 6 computers.

Ok. State wins, just wins, they go. They'll be the Big 12 champions with only 1 loss.

Bama has no more games to play other than their bowl game.

The fact that:

1. We've already played them and beat them, on their field
2. The computers have loved the Big 12 this season

All this is taken into consideration by the human voters. I'm obviously not a BCS guru but from what I read from lsumatt, who knows his shite, he's proved it more than once, that if there is another viable option, the human voters would go with that before they would choose a rematch.

Eh. I think OK state would be a good bit easier than Bama. We would win but the possibility for it to be close is much better against Bama as opposed to OK state

In the BCS CG? No way. Their SOS and computer scores will keep them out of it. However, if they beat Clemson and if OSU beats OU, then you'll have 2 conference champions vs. a #2 SEC team that won't play in it's conference championship. That would weigh big with the human voters.

I wasn't sure I had the numbers right, that's why I said that's why I think that's what I remember reading. It's something I read in one of lsumatt's posts.

He had the exact numbers and I trust that guy. He knows what he's doing.

But it was something along those lines of what I posted.

I agree. The Coaches Poll had Oklahoma #1 for weeks despite the fact LSU and Bama were clearly superior. The SEC penis envy extends to all other conferences and will reflect in the Coaches Poll voting by coaches of non-SEC schools. No one wants SEC supremacy of that level.
