I think most fans like both players and support the both of them because they love LSU. But Americans generally want fairness. Not "socialism" fairness, but fairness based on merit and talent. Most fans here think Lee's body of work is greater than any body of work Jefferson has put forth thus far.

I think most fans like Jefferson when he is second to Jarrett Lee.

this is the key here...the coaches are much better evaluators of talent than us fans.

What about the small percentage like me, who think Mettenberger is better than both of them.

Come on now, the fans ALWAYS know better than the coaches. The FANS are the ones at practice every damn day evaluating both QB's. The fans KNOWS what's best for LSU.

Very well could be true, but I just included the two main QBs because it shows a lot of things. The division between the fanbase would be a good sociology experiment though.

I've always laughed at people saying one is better than the other when both suck. Put them up against a GOOD defense and we saw what happened to TWO senior QB's. Not good.

ETA: LSU better hope they face Oregon or Oklahoma State in the BCS championship instead of Bama. We know the other school's don't have a good defense.

Two types of stupid LSU fans:

1. The type who think they're smarter than the coaches and pick Lee or JJ as the guy who should start.
2. The type who think they're smarter than the coaches and pick Mett as the guy who should start.

Type #1 is very stupid. Typs #2 is 40 times as stupid as type #1.

yeah and if you had a brain you would know that what "most fans" and the staff saw from JL in the bama game was the very real need to prepare JJ in the eventuality that JL's performance, or lack thereof, becomes a pattern and not an anomaly.

Actually I think most though I am sure there are exceptions do like both qb's. However I think the majority dont like to see JJ on the field.

Might have something to do with his season long ineptitude last year versus Lee's one poor game this year!

Just a thought

Type 3: The ones next year who will be saying "Why in THE frick was Lee and Jefferson starting over this guy"

Remember me telling you this ok

weak attack on me. I would maintain that most fans think Lee is better. They, and myself for that matter, are pretty critical of JJ. Doesn't mean it's personal, they still want the best for LSU.

It was a loose analogy, but I would hope both "conservatives" and "liberals" could agree that ability should be a deciding factor in matters such as this. If you disagree, take it to the poli board, because what I said isn't controversial at all.

Show me where I said Jefferson didn't need to be prepared for playing time. And based on last night, Lee isn't in a pattern of bad play. He had one bad game. Unless their some outside circumstances (suspension, injury,) there's no reason for Jefferson to be the starter next week. Hopefully I explained that well enough for you.
