I'm looking to purchase an XDM 40 and was wondering where the best place would be to purchase with the most competitive pricing.

Academy is about 10 minutes from my house and there's always Bass Pro which isn't that far either. Would online be better?

Any recommendations/suggestions/opinions are welcome. TIA.

Academy is usually, 9 times out of 10, cheaper then any places i'v priced in North LA, but i like going with the local guys. I would rather spend $20 more dollars to support a local business. Just me though.

Not debating this at all. I would absolutely do the same.

I have a friend, who is a Pharmacist, that buys guys from gunbroker.com all the time. He claims they have the best prices and doesn't buy from any other site. I never have personally used them.

Why don't you buy it from academy, then go to local guy and hand him $10 for nothing and then everyone wins.

If you are going to buy gear and ammo, I joined...

gunbuyingclub.com

I get the stuff a few days after shipping and the owner/operator is a nice guy.

I bought 2 ar uppers, 2 ar stripped lowers, a nikon scope, 2 stocks, a few mags, some ammo, 2 lower parts kits, a 5.11 double gun bag and probably a few other things.

Absolutely no complaints so far. Guns have to go to an ffl.

As far as I am concerned, it is the costco of guns and gear.

Go to GalleryofGuns.com, and click on Gun Genie. Select your gun. They'll direct you to a local dealer and the prices will be cheaper than anywhere else.

Sale Price: $539.99
Addit'l Fees: $37.95
Tax: $45.90
Sub Total: $623.84

With quick search, this is what I found for an XD 40 in the Ponchatoula area, from gallery of guns.

I tested the club I linked above. It beat the genie.

I heard about that place. Do you have to pay some annual subscription or something?

Yeah. It is $59 bucks a year. If a group of y'all join together maybe you could negotiate a lower price.

I paid 59 for a year. Considering the stuff I bought and the ease involved, it is definitely worth it for me.

Mike Young is the guy who runs it. He is quick to respond to any questions and seems like a nice guy. His contact info should be on the site. He might give you a discount. Ships from florida, so you guys are closer to him than I am.

He ships a lot of things fed ex so I get them the next day.

Well, 521 dollar for cash on the club I mentioned. That is without sales tax because no tax. You will need to pay shipping which might be around 20 bucks. Plus ffl. My range allows me four free ffls a year, so it is a no brainer for me.

FFL fee is maybe 20 bucks. So you are talking 560 vs 623.
