I'm getting my first bow this christmas and thought i'd consult the board for tips. I know it might not make a difference but it also needs to be easily equipped for bowfishing

Then you gonna have a problem nooby! A bow for dear hunting is way to powerful for bow fishing. And the inverse is true for a bow fishing bow

For bowfishing get something you can turn down the draw weight on a lot. Probably better to get a different for bowfishing an hunting.

I went on a bowfishing trip a few years ago. The bows weren't anything expensive. Could probably pick up a used one very cheap for bowfishing.

No doubt. Whenever I get a new bow, and a go devil, I think I'm gonna turn down my current one to 40lbs (or less if I can) and set it up for bowfishing

Me personally would have 2 bows. one for hunting and one for bowhunting, I also understand money I liked using a recurve for bowfishing.

I may need to get a bowfishing set up for armadillos. Nailed one this week in my front yard and pinned him to the ground. Joker jumped so high he pulled the arrow clean through. Then he ran under my porch and, apparently, down a hole (while blowing blood like a cartoon). That would have been quite a battle with a fishing bow. Instead, it's just gonna stink up the place.

Did my best. Can't see it, but can see the soft dirt around it and can barely reach with a rake to push dirt. I'm counting on cold weather.
