Miles luring John Chavis to Baton Rouge. Is any single person in the football program more relevant to the current success?

My position as the 12th Tiger from the bleachers is probably as, if not more, important

All the coordinators are doing well. I've loving the play calling on both sides for the most part. Only thing I've really questioned is how much JJ should play considering how outstanding Lee has been playing.

In case anyone is wondering, Jarrett Lee is #13 in the country in QB rating. Best in the SEC besides the hurt Tyler Bray who is staying around #8 after getting hurt.

What LEEdemption!!!!!

I remember when he first came in, all the detractor warned us about "3rd and Chavis". How non agressive he was and compared him to Lou Tepper. Where are are those guys now?

Nice...

The co defensive coordinator thing is why quite a few people lost faith in Miles. It's one of those judgement issues and for the life of me I couldn't figure out what the hell he was thinking. Chavis instantly improved the defense.

This all the more impressive considering the talent we have played against. Some of the guys ahead of him are probably from the WAC, MAC and CUSA

possibly Krags with turning our QB play around this year...that is the biggest change from last year for us IMO.

But no doubt we have made solid improvements in all phases of the game

hard to argue this, but Kragthorpe is right up there, with Frank Wilson not far behind with the talent he is helping to stockpile.

You need to realize that the co DC thing happened in a year when Miles knew we were toast because he'd gotten rid of Perrilloux. Had he just grabbed whoever was available that was a real DC at that point, he'd have missed his shot at Chavis later.

Malveto was a place holder. Les knew what he was doing. He was holding out for a killer DC hire when there weren't any around at the time and we were toast that year anyway.

I doubt he was THAT far thinking... but I do suspect he knew what was available at the time and was not convinced he had what he wanted available - so he took a chance with "his guys"... he recognized it was not successful, went out and got the best fit that was available.... can't fault the man 1 bit for his hiring decisions... Crowton possibly being the exception... but who did he pass on to get Crowton???? Probably took the best he could get, won a championship and when things started going bad... fixed it. Again... I would want my boss to be so fair.
