Has anyone ever been before? Any praises or complaints? Some friends and I were talking about making a trip in a couple of weeks for a bit of primitive camping / fishing so I figured I would ask the experts of the outdoor board before I packed my bags.

One the best camping areas, if not the best, in Louisiana. Beautiful lake, but the fishing is hit or miss. Shooting range near by as well as plenty of public hunting land.

Think alx camps there a lot. I'm sure he'll check in. I haven't been in years, but as soon as this little boy gets old enough I'm getting another camper and Indian Creek will be my weekend address.

Stay off my hole!
I'm there every weekend of October. We leave the camper there because it's half price if you stay the whole month. I really miss the primitive area and hope to get back there when the boy gets a bit older.
The fishing has been better this year even with all the grass. I can catch a lunch sack of 13" fish pretty easily.
Deacon was there a couple weeks ago. I think they liked it.

Major. Don't even go 1 mph over. That means the 25 mph access road too.

The primitive camping area is really nice. Lots of secluded spots right on the water. With the weather now, they are perfect for tent camping.

Possibly the most notorious speed trap in the state. On every road the town can lay claim to. Watch your speed from the time you get off the interstate, or reach Woodworth on 165, until you're in the campground.

I like it.
Hard fishing sometimes though.
We usually go on the spring to fish.
Do well on Flukes and Worms.
