We pound the ball between the tackle so much... We should try off tackle a bit more.. and I understand our identity of a "pound the rock", type of O, but it would seem more productive if we would try to get Ford off tackle and to the edge more.... Opinions???

I think it depends on the strength of the D-Line we're playing against... there really is a method to the madness

We're beating everyone by 30+ pts and wearing them down physically.

We have not yet played Alabama. I don't think they are going to wear down as easily. It seems like it would be a good idea to have at least one or two other running options besides the up the middle routine. "Mr. Defense" Saban will be waiting to stuff that run every time.

not gonna work for our biggest game of the year.

I am sure the gameplan will be different though. I just hope they execute it well since they are not getting real game reps with it.

Yeah, no doubt Mick... its very hard to complain, huh.. I am thrilled to death, playing great... I dont mean to sound like I am second guessing CLM, obivously he has it going on... just wondering, Ford seems like he so close to breaking runs... a few more attempts outside may even soften the middle up.. just sayin

It's effective for a couple of reasons:

1) it wears down a defensive front over time, hence LSU dominance of the 2nd half.

2) it is preparing the LSU O-line for November 5th when it will definitely be a struggle and running wide won't be much of an option.

This. Not sexy, but I can't understand why people have a problem with LSU lining up and just beating the phuck outta people.

You are correct. People saying retarded shite on the rant when our team is winning by 30 points per game is very predictable.

And they still cant stop us.

It demoralizes our opponents.

By the 4th QTR, they have already quit.

It also may be a setup for the biggest game of the year. Running the ball outside (more) would be a change from what Alabama has seen on film. However they are also very fast. The most interesting stat i have seen this week is the strength of the offenses they have faced - very low...which obviously may have their defense over rated.

Sorry to bring up the 'B' word, but I would assume that there will be a different strategy against Bama.

Jarrett Lee will be forced to win the game, here.

Bama's front seven is built for stopping the between-the-tackles rushing.

Not saying we cant run up the middle against them, but it will be the best front we will see all year.

ETA....I am also worried about our Linebackers against Richardson and Fowler. Kevin Minter WILL be in the majority of the game, however.
