but the pound the rock philosophy has actually done better against some stout Bama defenses than I think ppl realize.

Last year I agree with you. 2009 Chuck had a 34 yard burst up the middle but overall running between the tackles was very ineffective. This year is in Tuscaloosa and 2011 Bama defense is much better than last year. I have faith that Miles will have a good gameplan for Bama. But he better - running up the middle against them won't work often especially if Longeran can't play.

We have not yet played Alabama. I don't think they are going to wear down as easily. It seems like it would be a good idea to have at least one or two other running options besides the up the middle routine. "Mr. Defense" Saban will be waiting to stuff that run every time.

I love Lsu, but we will have to pass to beat them. Running out side on bama wont work as they are big & fast like us. We can beat them but we had better play early!

No doubt, Bama is very good.. but I dont agree with thier D being as fast as ours... I dont think there is any D in the nation with D speed like ours.. I think we will have success with off tackle fullback iso on the LB.. play action pass off that, and good timed passes to RR cant be defended... IMO

We are building a "body of work", as Miles likes to say. All of the film they have to scout will say that this is our tendency. As stated earlier, we want them to stack the box so we can Ware them out and open the speed options later in the game, as well as give us productive looks downfield w RR and OBJ. We do not run a sprint but more like a mile. Stragegy and patience are at a premium and premature domination only leads to late game frustration. Les has got this!

However well it 'seems' to be working, it sure as hell has taken a toll on our offensive line.

Because Les loves him some 1966 Big 10 football. Besides, its the way Bo called plays.

Jay, I think you are 100% right. Bo told him to be his own man and put his own stamp on HIS program and I believe that is what he is doing. He sees that the technically solid old Big 8 model will work in a dominant fashion when complimented with fast, quick skill players and cool calm and collected game managers. No gimmicks, just sound fundamental football with the best athletes in the country.

Their Lbers are on the same level as our DLine.... freakish good. If we dont get a Olineman to the second level to get a hat on those guys, no way we run around end.
