The Bears would be smart not to pay him unless for cheap

when he played against LSU I remember being so impressed by him that he became my 'must have' in fantasy. Which no one cares about obviously, but I just enjoy the fact that a few years on, he still runs the same way and is as productive. Fun player to watch

I understand that RB production is easily replaced in the NFL but Forte is just so versatile. He's such a weapon in the passing game as well.

Only suckers pay big for runningbacks

So easy to replace talent and they lose it so fast an unexpectedly

Forte deserves to get paid. He's been their best offensive player since they drafted him. Now they're fricking around with his contract negotiations while he's been making $300K after they signed Chester fricking Taylor to a $7 mill guaranteed deal last year.

yea, i understand not paying RBs huge money, but the bears have no choice, he is their offense and their best player, an no one is even close

I believe this to a point, but I also think that elite pass catching backs are worth more money.

He's their leading receiver as well as leading RB. That's silly. LT is still relevant and most of that is just because of his pass catching abilities. I just think there's a little more protection there if you pay that type of player, as opposed to just a pure RB whose margin for error is razor thin.

I agree, though, that he does deserve a nice contract. But the Titans fricked themselves w/ CJ2K

Im not saying he doesnt deserve it. Im saying they could let him go and draft a runningback that would be 60 percent as productive insantly and be 1/110000 of the cost. Use that money on some Olinemen

But sure go pay him, i mean that worked out for The titans and CJ right?

Or LJ in KC

RBs get paid and either stop caring, get, hurt, or you find out arent as valuable as you thought they were. Happens every time and teams will wise up to it (and some already have)

I forgot that part. frick that noise- he should be holding out then. If right now he came in and said I don't play until you re do my deal- what would they do? Go with Barber?

not all the time. hasnt happened to peterson, never happened to tomlinson

normally i'd agree with you, but forte is too valuable for them

I agree with most of the above but this guy can bang for a first down, catch balls not just on screens but wheel routes and block like crazy on pass plays!!!
Always gives 110%.

I really don't think Forte is the kind of person who would stop trying to improve himself after getting a big deal.

And FWIW I'm not saying that he deserves to land some ridiculous contract on a Chris Johnson level. It just pisses me off that they paid Chester Taylor roughly 23 times what Forte's been making to sit on the bench last season. And now they aren't working with him on a new contract.

I just dont think its smart tying your money into that position.

Go out and get the best option at oline whether drafting or Free agents and whatever you have left after that offer to him, if he says no and there is not way to compromise then trade him/let him walk and be a more balenced offense without relying on just him and youll be a better offense for it if those lineman work out and you can run block/protect the quarterback better

ETA sorry for all the typos, knee deep in homeworkso im not fully focused on typing

Forte is an absolute beast. It's amazing that he is literally the only hope for that offense to get going. He's a solid player
