what did yall think of the pilot tonight for pan am?
a marriage proposal during the bay of pigs? where does cbs get this?
it seems like a good show but the pilot was very busy like too much going on.

One of the dumber scenes I've witnessed lately. Besides, the pilot and co-pilot seem to be starring dreamily into each others eyes too often to believe for a second a woman could come between them.
The nostalgia aspect is appealing but I have a feeling this will be a dud.

AMC is running Mad Men reruns on Sunday morning. Set your DVR and watch them instead.

I was watching the show with a girl who said more or less the same thing. Those two were smiling way too intensely at each other.

It was definitely too busy, they were trying to give all the back story at once. But I might watch again, depending on who plays next sunday night.

It will probably make it...it's escapist on the channel everyone with wire hangers gets.
The other Mad Men clone will probably not. The Playboy Club...that will get cancelled.

FYI...the show airs on ABC, not CBS

I thought it was interesting that the show was promoted so heavily on ESPN. I guess the folks at ABC think there's a lot of crossover appeal with the folks who watch a lot sports.
The scene where the stewardesses had to submit to an inspection and weigh-in before they were allowed to board the plane must have been an eye-opener for the younger generation who don't remember how things used to be. Can you imagine the outrage that would ensue if any major corporation were to institute policies like that today? It would make Gloria Steinem's head explode.

No way this show can last. It's extremely boring. Just another soap opera set on a plane. Unless Christina Ricci is going to be topless at some point. It will fail miserably.

I feel like they will focus more on the girl who is the secret agent during the cold war.

Or maybe ABC owns ESPN, and its free advertising for them during the most watched football game of the week...

Finally got around to watching the pilot yesterday. Cheesy as all hell, but for all the obvious reasons I'm gonna keep watching.
