Parents of players complained this summer a/b Miles discipline of team?

I hadn't heard of this before today, and I was wondering if the Rant knew anything more?
LINK
Is it common for the parents of players to talk with head coaches that much?
I couldn't imagine my parents calling a college professor, but maybe that's different than the coach/player/parent relationship.
I'm sure during the recruiting process parents play a major role, but once they're at LSU, should the parents even be involved to that level?
Any thoughts?
Bonus info from Guilbeau's chat on TM7's "Honey Badger" nickname:

[Comment From Glenn Guilbeau:]
Discipline has slipped in recent months, and Miles needs to address it. Parents complained over the summer, and Miles did not react. Hopefully, he has taken stock since the Shady's incident in which his curfew was laughed at.

Don't understand the nickname, and good nicknames need no explanation. So no, not a good nickname. I think Mathieu will leave LSU as one of its greatest DBs ever. He may not be a first rounder after his junior year, though, because of his lack of size. But he should be a first rounder after his junior year.

this its been established for a while that gg is stupid. im not surprised he wouldn't understand something simple like the honey badger nickname

Guilbeau is just trying to stir shite up, no parents complained about the teams discipline
And the Honey Badger doesn't give a shite if GG doesn't understand his nickname

It's happens here and there but a lot of time the parents to coach relationship is often a good one beginning with the recruiting process. But as far as weekly converstations--heck no. You got your parents who think their baby should be playing every play on both sides the ball. Remember the Mitch Mustain thing in Arkansas several years back?
and WTH does he want Miles to do? Have a coach sit at every players door and window the whole night to make sure they don't leave?

I'm sure this is coming from somewhere and not just made up out of thin air...
...and I shouldn't have included the Honey Badger info. This thread won't get back on topic now,

No? Refresh my memory if you don't mind?

I still haven't seen anyone write an article about how curfew works with bed checks and such. Did this ever get reported? I'd like to read more on that level of the compliance office or whatever.

Good for Gilbeau. At least he has that going for him.

Mustain started the first few games of the season as a freshman, Arkansas won everyone he started. Real starter comes back from injury, Arkansas has mediocre season. Mustain parents cause a stink, Mustain transfers to USC, OC leaves, Nutt leaves

I'd love to know how the frick GG came up with this shite or who his supposed source is for this nugget. This is good even for him.

I was living in Arkansas during this time. Mitch Mustain was a spoiled brat and his mom acted like a b****. This isn't little league where 'that parent' can run a program. I think we all saw how great Mustain was when he went to USC and became the backup punter.....then got suspended for getting into trouble there.

which mustain's parents kind of had an argument, but maybe Nutt knew something (not claiming him to be a good coach) b/c he didn't amount to crap at USC.
For camp everyone is housed in the athletic dorms no matter if you live off campus or in a different dorm for the season. An assistant or GA Coach or Nadar walks to each room with a checklist around curfew making sure every player is in their room with no one else (females) in there. After that he leaves, and so do the players after he does.

It's tradition on the last day of camp for the team to break curfew and go out and have a good time, celebrate as a team. Has happened every year for as long as he can remember and happens at most schools. The coaches know this and it is overlooked. This was that night. Bobby Hebert explained it on his show for whatever that's worth.
