yeah..stolen from texags, but a good read.

stupid conference

The bigger question, I suppose, is how Baylor didn’t see this coming. How shortsighted and pathetic are the leaders in the Big 12? What an embarrassing year. Going back to 2010, the league just let Colorado and Nebraska walk (Pac 12, Big Ten, respectively). Then Texas A&M passed on a rumored SEC invite. Then the entire league let Texas hop in bed with ESPN to form its own network. Only now is everyone panicking, but of course it is too late

It is a screwy mess, no one is arguing that....but I think anyone who is honest will admit that ti is funny that Baylor is calling the shots and intimidating Slive and the SEC.

In a million years, did you ever think Slive and the SEC would ever want a waiver before making an offer to a new member? Slive is practically begging Baylor for approval.

I think a waiver would help aTm a helluva lot more than Slive.

I imagine this is merely Slive and the SEC Presidents calling Baylor out for their innuendos. Now that this is in the public domain (and Baylor is getting killed), if Baylor actually blocks an SEC move and forces A&M to play an independent schedule for 1 year, then A&M has a significant cause of action of their own. Brilliant actually....

If you think this sounds familiar … yes, five Big East schools sued Miami and Boston College to try and prevent them from leaping to the ACC back in 2003. That failed.

Does anybody remember the details of this?

No, their captain just signed the release in Korean. You would THINK she would know Engrish handwriting.

Article
I just read the article it linked. I don't personally remember it though. It's apparent, Da U and BC switched from the Big East to the ACC.

This is absolutely NOT Baylor calling any shots. The SEC is saying that we will allow aTm in, but we are not going to acquire a lawsuit. If Baylor wants to act like a jilted lover after his ex has now gotten engaged with someone else, they are the ones who look like completely desperate morons. It would not surprise me if someone at t.u. were controlling the situation at Baylor and having them do their dirty work. t.u.'s little fiefdom is being dismantled before their eyes and there is nothing they can do about it but threaten lawsuits.

Baylor is not blocking an SEC move. Slive is blocking the move. Baylor is just refusing to waive their legal rights and they are retaining their option to seek remedy in the courts.

Obviously, Slive and the SEC are very scared of Baylor. If not, A&M would have been offered a spot in the SEC and this thread wouldn't exist.

A&M wants to be in the SEC.
The SEC wants A&M as a member.
The SEC won't offer A&M because it is scared of Baylor.

Sure sounds like Baylor is calling the shots to me!

I love it! The longer this aggie cluster-f**k takes, the richer the Texas conspiracy theories become. Ken Starr as a puppet of DeLoss Dodds is classic.

Not no, but hell no. No way Slive is allowing Baylor to call anything. This is a desperate attempt by Baylor to keep the Texas ten in tact because they are well aware of their fate if it crumbles.

The SEC isn't offering anything. A&M is applying for membership. The chances that Baylor would actually win a lawsuit against the SEC is very slim since the SEC isn't inviting the aggies.
