The "Overrated" Cheer

The most annoying cheer that any crowd can yell when winning a sporting even is "Overrated". Apparently, a bunch of LSU devotees felt that this was appropriate during the latter stages of the Oregon game. Look, if we are trying to make ourselves look super, then isn't it better to acclaim the opponent as real good? To demean the opponent as "overrated" dimishes the value of a big victory. I'd rather everyone think that we'd beat a stud, which makes us a bigger stud, than to think that we only beat an overrated patsy - something anyone else could have done, too.

I liked it because it was a pun on their "O" symbol.

I don't know why people over-analyze this chant. People do it simply because it sucks being on the receiving end of it.

Yeah at first I was with you and did not chant it the first three times our fans started it, but I changed my mind once those Jackasses tried the onside kick. I really do not like the chant to begin with, but I found after those idiots called timeout, scored the touchdown and then tried a needless onside kick, I joined in the chant out of frustration more than anything. I felt that was pretty douche-esque for them to try to get one of our guys injured on an needless onside kick so I just felt like screaming something really douche-esque back. I wanted to chant F Oregon, but I am always thinking about the kids.

Oregon was rated 3rd. LSU was rated 4th. LSU beat Oregon. They were literally over-rated. Then we fixed it. And reminded them of that over and over again in case there was any confusion.
