Getting a little tired of hearing the talking heads on ESPN harping on how Oregon "shot themselves in the foot" with the turnovers.

There are two different types of turnovers IMO.

Case 1: The bad snap to Lee = mental mistake and bad communication between Center and QB. LSU's fault, that's what I call "shooting yourself in the foot"

Case 2: Mathieu stripping the ball and walking into the end zone = Something that is taught to every Defense and Special Team unit in the nation. Well executed play by LSU, not a mental mistake by Oregon.

exactly. It's one thing to wrap up a guy and take him down. It's another thing to make sure that as you're doing it, you get your arm up in there and punch out the football then come up with it. LSU seems to do this exceptionally well.

Case 3: Sam Montgomery stripping the ball out of D.T.'s arms and an UNBELIEVABLE reaction by Reid to pluck it out of the air in less than half a second.

Case 4: Craig Loston NOT giving up on a play when D.T. was in the middle of a long kickoff return. Kudos to Big Papa for his hustle.

We know what we saw! I don't think the turnovers were mistakes but were caused by good D play.

I just hate how all of these "College Football Experts" can't seem to understand this. I know they have an agenda and all, but COME ON!! Can we get a little credit for something?

good teams don't turn the ball over.

It is a stupid argument to say one team is better if they wouldn't have turned the ball over. The better team protects the ball and forces turnovers, see Saints Super Bowl season

I agree. Sam99 ripped the ball out on a run up the middle, as did Craig6 on the KO. We fumbled twice and out hustled O to recover the balls.

I think it continues to prove how the national media is steadily getting more jealous of how good the SEC is and how they look for anything else to report about.....

This is the only way to sort of "save face" for the Ducks getting blasted by LSU. Repeat the mantra: "They did it to themselves" over and over again - which we all know is a crock.

Each of those fumbles came on plays the Oregon ballcarrier didn't think LSU was fast enough to make.

The initial punt return, Barner turned his back thinking he'd just out run the LSU rightside contain. On another return, he fielded the ball inside the ten thinking we'd out punted our coverage. He got slaughtered. Every opponent UO plays from this point on will fall victim to those exact moves. The spin-reverse-field move that TM scored on, might well go the length of the field for a UO TD against OregonState.

Same thing On the Thomas no-one-will catch-me-from-behind KO return fumble. The kid can scoot. He had no idea Loston could close on him from behind an punch the ball out.

UO may well finish the regular season with one loss. If so their fan base will write this game off to carelessness, rather than misjudged opponent speed. Make no mistake, UO's problem was the latter.

I see what you're saying, and I agree, but I just can't sit here and act like if the situation was reversed, I wouldn't be saying the same thing. If Jarrett Lee would have thrown 4 picks, I would have been like,"Oh frick, well, Lee sucks and cost us the game." I wouldn't have said, "Oh man, Lee did everything he could, and they STILL picked him off 4 times. We played great."

ESPN hates LSU.

But seriously, stop looking for respect from talking heads. We go plenty of respect. I though Musberger and Herbie were going to fellate Tyrann Mathieu, while at the same time massage L. James' foot after we saw the caption box of Mingo stepping on his foot.

All we have to do is keep winning....that's all.

LSU will never be a USC, Michigan, ND or OSU. What I mean is, no matter how much we win, the media will not blow us, nor will the AP pick a 1 loss LSU over a one loss USC. The only way it happened in 2007 was because USC didn't win the Pac 10.

Desiring media attention isn't the luxury you think it is. All LSU has to do is win the next game and think that way.

We woudl say the same thing if LSU lost and had that many turnovers. How many games have we lost due to bad officiating? Just sayin.

Look at INTs this way.

Lee throws 4 picks but they are due to Oregon DBs jumping routs, jarring the ball loose, out manning our receivers...etc. I say wow Oregon has a great Secondary and they deserve to win the game.

Lee throws 4 picks and all of the passes are horrible throws, off the mark, miss read routs, forcing the ball....etc I say wow our QB play sucks and we lost the game because of it.

This person does it because when I watch the replays to see how a particular play develops, I follow the numbers, and thought that it would help others. Sorry if it bothers you.
