What did you think of Herbstreit's commentary during the game?

Im no fan of his, but he did give us a lot of respect. Im sure it was hard for him to do, but he seemed to be on the LSU/SEC bandwagon from the beginning.

it was good. I generally like Herbie in the booth. Musberger, not so much.

I found myself hearing "Orgeon this and Oregon that" and getting a little pissed at him.

Then I decided to actually LISTEN and I got just what you said. I thought he treated us well.

It was a good lesson to me.

I like how he was bragging about predicting a low scoring game in the first quarter. idiot.

Are you kidding me...Herb rode the Oregon train mostly through the first half. It wasn't until LSU began to pound them that he and Mush starting giving us props....ABC has always been a west coast cheerleaders.... I give the finger to everyone that gave us no chance of winning this game....You cry now while I pre-book my room in New Orleans.

I agree Herbie seemed to be neutral this game. It was refreshing. Mushbuger is just awful though.

Quite possibly the worst commentators in CFB. Give me Gary and Todd, please.

Yeah Mushberger's comments about LSU's off-field problems affecting their conditioning were really on da money

My wife and I talked about this after the game. I thought they did a good job. Herbie had some good information to share. Brent needs to study a lot more.

I think they had a lil too much hype for James, but he is a Heisman candidate. They scarcely talked about LSU's quality backs who have yet to prove themselves.

As I said in another thread: I think K.H. is one of the best analysts out there. He is the least irritating to listen to. He clearly enjoys his job - he is overall a likeable guy. I mean, I think I'd enjoy watching a game with him. Danileson, for instance, knows football, but to me he doesn't have the 'performance' aspect down.

The Miles > Mich : some won't ever forgive him for this. BUt I can't think of a better analyst right off hand.

IMO B.M. is not my favorite BUT he does a lot of big games so he can't get into the minutia of our 2nd team nickle back , etc. He just focuses on the stars. He's kind of a throwback to the network days of only having 3 channels on TV. I was a lot more dumbed down back then.

"To beat Oregon tonight, and with their speed, they are going to have to do much more than just run the ball and be conservative and just try not to lose the game on offense." - Herby in the 2nd Q

I'd say he was pretty much wrong. Herby is very average. Your average shmuck could be just as good. He is your typical college football fan. He doesnt really give any brilliant insight or understanding. Basically, he sucks, considering how much he is on tv, he sucks. He is a decent looking guy with a good tv voice.

herbstreit seemed to be pretty balanced and also gave us and the sec props. but muffberger stinks. he's biased as hell; to him it's the big 10 and pac 10. he kissed oregon's tush every chance he could. oregon is a good well coached top 10 team and should get props but his one sidedness was obvious. kinda made us seem like the underdog.

That’s not what I heard.....Herb was very impressed before the game with LSU & the way the team looked BEFORE the game started.

I felt he did a fair job all the way around.

I was surprised at how good he talked about our team and the sec. But, he still pissed me off especially when he said our defense was tired with their hands on their hips and that idiot musberger was saying our team had problems with conditioning because of distractions. Wtf???

I guess this is why most people seem to like him. He is a guy you could be buddies and watch a game with.
