What does the OB use on your dogs? I use Frontline but the last few times I've used it the dog slides down the hill on his back and tries to wipe it off, then jumps in lake to wash it off.

I've heard from alot of folks, that this year is the worst that they've ever seen for fleas.. Wonder why, heat?
Sorry, don't have any idea, wife puts some kinda stuff on our little lap dog...

I just went outside and sprayed Talstar around house. Sat down and had 4 fleas on my ankles.
Headed to Home Depot for flea killer. Any recommendations?

Comfortus (spelling). Is a pill that I've gotten from the vet. Works wonders for my lab. I still double up on frontline just to be safe when I go to my camps or somewhere that will have fleas/ticks.
You can't let your dog get wet for 2-3days after you put the frontline on his back. Gonna have to chain him up or kennel him...otherwise your just flushing $ down the hole.

Trifexis.
I have a lab that stays outside next to a cow pasture and has 0 fleas on him. I used Frontline but it didn't work worth a shite. This stuff is a once monthly pill that is his heartworm medicine, flea prevention, and and kills some other types of parasites.

Been in a vet office for about 16-17 years working with my dad. And everything thing you said is right on the money. Especially keeping your dog contained for 24 hours after applying frontline.
Also, frontline does not keep fleas from jumping on your dog.. it just kills them once they jump on. Comfortis is a good product from what I hear, but I don't have any experience with it so I can't tell you anything about it.

I use sentinel as a flea tick and heartworm preventative. This is the stuff I was recommended to use...never had them long enough to try. LINK
FWIH Talstar is shite. The FIL put three treatments down before switching to something else

I've used comfortis before and it worked. It is pricey though.
I currently use Program which is cheaper and you don't need a Rx.

What breeds is it safe for. The stuff was awesome but I think I read that it had been shown to cause seizures for certain breeds.

I use Comfortis and have used Sentinel in the past. Both worked for my dog

Yeah ask him for some free samples. I'll take 2-3 years worth. Thanks
