Lane ****ing Kiffin, Bro!

I have to admit it: I was not happy when he was hired away from Tennessee to be Pete Carroll's replacement. Last fall camp, when he insisted that tackling be minimized in order to reduce injuries, our defensive readiness suffered: The Trojans defense was not the wall we had in 2008, it was more like a sponge: Full of holes.
Kiffin's shenanigans at Tennessee are well known, and may yet prove to be a negative factor during his tenure at USC.
And yet: He's growing on me. Despite the sanctions USC has incurred from the NCAA, Kiffin and his staff are recruiting very well. Kiffin is developing incoming talent, and the reports of how things are going at fall camp are very positive. Kiffin is disciplining players (Bread Breaker Marc Tyler step forward) but also giving
them a path towards redemption (Markeith Ambles.)
People are hitting hard at Troy this fall, and I believe it will pay dividends. Lane ****ing Kiffin may be the biggest hit of all.

True. The present sanctions may be nothing compared to the hit USC may take from Lane ****ing Kiffin's shenanigans.

I think Kiffin is very underrated.

The clown is a laughing stock,he will be fired within three years so the new AD can have his own coach,he's USC's Mike Shula...

He needs a big year this season to point too before the sanctions hit.

Kiffin is a pretty solid coach and an elite recruiter. He will do pretty well at SC, assuming sanctions don't derail him.

What has he done to be called a "solid" coach? I mean really?
Posted on 8/15/11 at 8:50 am to TT9
Is there a team in the country that doesn't have solid reports right now?

Kiffin's one of those guys that won't get credit for being a good coach in many people's eyes because:
1. How it ended at Tennessee
2. He has a loud mouth (which I love)
3. He coaches at SC.

None of those three have anything to with the fact that he hasn't proved anything yet...
Posted on 8/15/11 at 8:56 am to TT9
If he won a national title people would still rail on him and say he wasn't that good...i.e. Pete Carroll.
Posted on 8/15/11 at 8:58 am to IAmTheHatOnMilesHead
Or compare him to Coker,I'm just not at all sold on him yet...
Posted on 8/15/11 at 9:06 am to IAmTheHatOnMilesHead
There's some truth to that, he was pretty good in Oakland

uhhh what?

You know there was always the idiot who would say Carroll wasn't good. Pac-10 this. USC doesn't play anyone that. And they usually referred the UT game as proof that those SC teams weren't that good.
