I have an armadillo tearing up the garden at my house. Aside from shooting the bastard, is there anything I can put in the garden to prevent them from digging at my rose bush roots?

We had this problem once. Surprisingly nobody called the cops when a 12 gauge went off 3 times in the middle of a neighborhood.

I had one entering under the fence. I trapped that little bastard and hauled him off.

If you can't trap it, I would try a bunck of cayenne pepper where he digs.

Probably your best bet short of shooting it. Not sure what kind of trap you'd use or what you'd bait it with though

Feed store will have stuff to put out....I would not waste your time...shoot the bastard.

I've been having an issue (along with neighbors) couple weeks ago my neighbor shot 3 of them about 1 in the morning...scared the shite out of me. Came home Friday night bout 1130p let the dog out and he went apeshit....ran and got the judge....1 less to worry about.

They are dumber than dirt. This has been on here before. I've killed em with a .22, a bow and even a shovel, and I've caught a butt-load of em with my live trap and then "disposed" of them. Bait doesn't work with armadillos, but you can catch them easily in a live trap. The idiots will bumble right into it. Just put it where they often dig and put a couple of boards up to 'channel' them into the trap. Don't drive down the street and let em go afterward or you'll catch em again later. Make compost instead.

I like to try wierd shite like that and heard they were good, so I killed a couple and stewed them up...tasted good, but kinda like a turtle though, not nearly worth the work...
