Where do start cleaning it? under the shell?

yeah, they don't have shell on the bottom...you have to just kinda hull them out from underneath...if you want to clean one, you need to shoot them in that little pointy head..if you hit the body, the bullet just fricks things up too much...

I'll reach out and touch them. With a bullet.

I hope you were shooting three armadillos. If you were just shooting at one, you may need to go to OB remedial shooting class!

A few years ago, my next door neighbor knocked on my door at 2 a.m. to tell me there was an armadillo in MY backyard and HIS dogs were barking at it. Ticked me off because we were sleeping fine until he started knocking. I didn't want to start shooting in the neighborhood, so I got a fishing net out of the garage, walked into the back yard and scooped him up. He didn't even try to run. Put the net over my shoulder, walked out the side gate into the front yard. Plopped him down on the ground and off he waddled. Neighbor asked me why didn't I shoot him and I told him that he wasn't bothering me and I wasn't going to wake my neighbors up for an armadillo.

After you cut off the shell, it actually looks like a baby pig. I ate some too and it was quite delicious. I know about the leprosy, but figure the alcohol will take care of that.
