Anyone else worried about the WR position?

We're not very young at the position. And Colston keeps getting nagging injuries. This is probably Devery's last year in N.O and won't Meachem be a FA after this year? Of course we still have #9 who makes all WR's look good.

Not this year. I'm not thinking about future years. I'm just going to enjoy a great season.

The positions I'm worried about: OT, backup Safety, OLB.

It's the NFL bro, how you gonna worry about the future with free agency, trades, and a draft each year?

Exactly what I was thinking. We were worried about our D line after last season and especially after Marshawn gashed us. Look at our D line now...we acquired Franklin, Rogers, Cam Jordan, Turk, etc.

Yep, I was hoping to pick up mason or a Steve breaston just in case of injury.

True but next year we have a few key free agents that we need to resign or replace, we'll have to restock our D-line next year because I doubt we resign Rogers and Franklin, we will need to address the WR position and we dont have a first round pick next year. Next years offseason is gonna be big for loomis and Payton

Good thing we find receivers at the end of the draft.

not worried and none of them are 30 yet

Future issues and change prolly. Look at how the perpetually weak secondary has now turned into a strength. Look at how they addressed the DL weaknessesses. Look how they addressed ST coverage deficiencies. Look how they got bigger, faster, and younger as prescribed. I have no doubt the WR talent will roll along the same way.

BTW, I do see a high chance of Colston going after this year. Might be too much money to turn down. Graham could become the key big target go to guy. Arrington is lanky but could evolve in that too. Arrington has been outplayed in camp so far by rookies tho.

A dependable speed guy will be needed when Devery goes (which could possibly be now). Someone like Billings or Fayson could fit the bill. Another year with Devery and they might get someone more high profile. I thought they would spend a mid round pick for someone like that... Jernigan NYG or Gates MIA.

Yea those are some good points. I'm not sure if colston will get outrageous offers or not. His durability might scare some teams and it also depends on how big the WR market is next year. With that said, I put my complete trust in the front office and coaching staff. Next offseason will be crucial but loomis can make it happen

Triplett article today-

New Orleans Saints receivers are a model of consistency

For the fifth straight year, the Saints have their top four receivers back in the fold -- Marques Colston, Lance Moore, Devery Henderson and Robert Meachem.

If ever it seemed like they might break up the band, this was the year. The NFL's salary cap is back, and the Saints have had to make some tough financial decisions to stay under it.

I spoke with Early Doucet about a month ago, he said after this season (final year of rookie contract) he wants to come home and play for the Saints..

So if the Saints FO can see Early as a good fit then I would expect him to come in and take Deverys roster spot
