Former West Virginia University QB Pat White is about to sign with the UFL's Virginia Destroyers. White was a second round draft pick by the Miami Dolphins in 2009 and was released by the team last year. He also had a stint playing baseball for the Kansas City Royals earlier this year. The Destroyers released the news via Twitter...

“#Destroyers are close to signing QB Pat White. Deal could be inked in the next few days. #PatWhite played for the Dolphins & West Virginia U”
The dude was good at WVU, curious to see what he can do under a coach like Marty Schottenhiemer, who coaches the Destroyers.

Ike Taylor's hit at the end of that season really fricked his head up

Pat White is the man! One of my favorite college players, I'm glad he's getting signed by someone, I wish it was an NFL team though.

Good for him. I figured he would sign on somewhere. He's fortunate to play for Schottenhiemer.

the sad thing is after all the hype he had in college this is the truth. he would have made a lot more money if he didn't wanna be a "star qb" and learned to play the position he was best built for

He'll, if he truly had the willingness to switch to WR, he'd probably still be on the Dolphins.

Parcell said of his biggest mistakes was drafting White for such a specific role(Wildcat QB) that high...

I saw that 07 team play against Marshall in Huntington. Granted the competition sucked but they were really good.

White
Slaton
Devine
Schmitt

There were so many threats on that team and White would make one or two plays a game where he turned an obvious loss into a 50+ yard gain and a TD.

But I always knew that the way he ran (very straight up) would get him killed one day in the league.

He just wanted to play QB, didn't want to be a star. Good thing you know whats best for him. I'm sure he wouldn't trade his college experience at WVU for anything in the world.

I foresee a long and unsuccessful UFL career for the "Chosen One" Terrell Pryor.
