It isn't near as good as Philay's which is right down the road. I have never had bad food at Sno's, but Philay's is much better.

It tries to be the nice place in town, fwiw they do some things real good ( fried seafood, fish almandine, soups) and some of their specials are legit, and a lot of there stuff is just not good(augratin dishes, prime rib, gumbos). So depending on what you get it can be pretty good or just bad

Bout the same both do some things well, both menus are a few decades old, Sno's does try to bring in specials , both pack a crowd and have wait times close to an hour on the weekends so obviously lots of people like it

I think Mike Anderson's in Gonzales is far better than Sno's.

I live out in that area and often forget about Sno's.

See and I have been disappointed every time I've been to MA. I always thought Sno's was better. I live here as well.

As Tigerpaw eluded to, it could be the dishes that we order and don't order that really make up the difference between restaurants.

Used to be great back in the day.

Haven't been there in almost 5 years.

I'd recommend Philays like everyone else.

True. I just root for them because they are locally owned, though I'm sure Philays is as well. Just haven't made it there yet.

I used to stay at that Holiday Inn for work and rotate between MA and Sno's, neither were very good but MA was better.

My parents used to go a lot when we would go down to Gonzales to visit my grandparents. That's been at least 7 or 8 years ago I guess, but they seemed to like it...

I always get the mostly fried dishes at both since I'm a picky eater, but I enjoy both. I'm pretty sure they revamped Sno's a few years ago inside and out so those that haven't been in years may not be the best judge.

I know when I was married we couldn't really beat that family pack Sno's advertises for like $30.

Philay's seemed over priced for what it was when I went.

I went to Sno's about two months ago. It was pretty bad and I don't plan on going back.

Both Phillay's and Mike Anderson's are far better options in that area.

Sno's isn't bad, but I am very tired of the fried seafood/steak place concept that dominates our food culture. Sno's is cookie cutter similar to Mike Anderson's and many other places who might seem to be a chain, they are that similar.

That is one of the reasons places like Bay Leaf and a plethora of sushi shacks attract so many young people, it's something different. Going out to eat doesn't have to be a bland chain or like going out for Grandpa's b'day.
