I'll admit, I don't follow the NBA that much, but:

Wasn't MJ considered somewhat of a 'choker' as well early in his career because he couldn't get past teams like the Celtics and Pistons?

Didn't it take him 7 years to win his first championship?

Didn't he go to college?

So that would have put him somewhere around 29 yrs old when he won his first championship.

Lebron is 26, right? But he's being compared to MJ, and referred to as a 'choker' in comparison to MJ's career?

Someone sort me out here.

Mj was 28 when he won his first one. That being said your logical argument isn't warranted here because Lebron is terrible now.

Jordan wasn't the #1 overall pick in the draft. MJ wasn't deemed "the chosen one" or "the king" coming out of high school. They are two different players, with different games, who play different positions and chose much different paths.

LBJ would look alot different in an NBA where zone defenses are illegal.

I'm not sure I even agree with this. Jordan had a better PER thru age 26 than James had. Also his playoff PER was significantly better than James at that age. At age 26, Jordan had one of the best PER seasons ever. Jordan vs James at age 26.

I do, however, agree with your second statement.

No way in hell. Jordan was playing against far and away better teams. Also Kordan would smoke him.

LBJ was as productive in the Finals as Len Bias was for the Celtics.

26James:
7 All-Stars
1 Scoring title
2 MVP's
2 Finals appearances
5 1st team
2 2nd team
3 Defensive 1st team
0 Defensive POY

26Jordan:
5 All-Stars
2 Scoring titles
1 MVP
0 Finals appearances
3 1st team
1 2nd team
2 Defensive 1st team
1 Defensive POY

Jordan passes James for good at 31.

You also fail to mention James has been in the league 8 years and Jordan had been in the league like 5 years so some of those numbers are a bit skewed.

This also proves that 26James is better than 26Jordan. 26James has played 8 seasons; 26Jordan has only played 5.

If James, God forbid, were to die this summer, he is a definite Hall-of-Famer (before you argue against this, find a seven-time all-star who isn't in the HoF). If Jordan had died in a plane crash after the 1989 season (when he was 26), I'm far less certain.

So because he has been in the league longer at that age, that means he is better? No. It just means he had more opportunities for all star appearances, mvps, etc

These comparisons are ridiculous at this point. People wanted Kobe to be MJ and it didn't happen.

Also you can't just point to stats, what made MJ great was the way he elevated his game in the big situations, so far Lebron has shrunk from it.

MJ is known for his clutch shots, his big perfomances and his competitive fire, LBJ is known for the decision and mediocre finals perfomances.

Can we drop this topic for 7 or so years?

Why has he been in the league longer? Because he's been better than Jordan for the most part.

You don't get it.

Age - Lebron - Jordan
19 - RoY - UNC freshman
20 - 2nd team - all-ACC first team
21 - scoring champ - Naismith PoY
22 - 1st team, Finals - all-star
23 - 1st team - hurt all year
24 - MVP - 1st team, scoring champ
25 - MVP - MVP, scoring champ
26 - 1st team, Finals - 1st team, scoring champ

Lebron has the edge for the first five years. Photo finish for the next two.

You mean after Jordan has six titles? That's no fun.
