Anyone been keeping an eye on this game??? You can see a ton of cool clips on the game. Looks like it will be huge.

You can sign up for guilds already. Hit us up if interested. We're a heavy PVP guild that's played everything.

Below is a quote from the guild creator...

quote:

LINK its an MMORPG thats been in production for around 8 or so years. Bioware is involved with Lucas Arts and its going to be big. As some of you know now ive been playing these type of games off and on since 1997 with the release of Ultima Online. This game is going to be WoW big more than likely.

LINK We will have a guild/alliance in this game and heres the link. If any of you are even just considering playing or would even like to register and apply to help our recruiting process please do.

After WoW I never want to play a MMO again, I'll stick to games now that I can beat!

When is this game supposed to come out?

I was thinking of getting it, but if it comes out the same time as Diablo 3 it stands no chance IMO.

There aren't any good MMO's out there right now. LOTRO went Pay to Win, WoW has never been great, just populated. Eve is too player driven. Fallen Earth has no endgame.

I'm waiting for Star Wars: TOR and Guild Wars 2.

You didn't stick with RIFT? I never played past Beta. It was a good game, but due to some personal issues I canceled all of my MMO subscriptions and started really limiting my video gaming a few months ago.

Naaaa. It was too theme parkish for my tastes. I have thought about going back because I need SOMETHING to bide the time, but I hate putting that much time into something I'm not serious about.

If I heard that the game was actually excellent, and became more open, I might try it again.

I liked it, but not enough yet. And I know MMO's need some room to grow, so I really want some opinions now after a few months.

When I need an MMO fix, I always go back to City of Heroes. It's extremely dated even after 7 years, yes, but I never get tired of all of the customization options and the general coolness of superpowers. Even now, I think that game is superior to Champions Online and DC Universe Online. Makes up in substance for what it lacks in style, to use a cliche.

Love that game. Tried to go back last year and Pinnacle was completely dead. And I felt a little lost. Haha.

It's pretty much Freedom and Virtue now for any semblance of activity. I like to solo on CoX anyway... There's something satisfying about the grind.

Eta: maybe it's the epileptic light show my keyboard puts on when I complete a mission or gain a level.

LOTRO was the only mmo I've ever played and loved it so much. I haven't played much in the past two years. As sad as it is I found that I couldn't keep a balanced life while playing it. I got so involved I neglected other areas of my life. I simply quit playing all together. I tried to pick it up last summer in a more casual style but I couldn't do it.

I'm very intrigued by the old republic but I'd have to buy a new computer just to play, plus as I said...

Anyone else encounter similar problem?

I love LOTRO as well, but there's some truth to Freauxzen's "pay to win" comment. Turbine has really gotten greedy with the microtransactions.

I was ticked when they started making subscription players pay for things. I promptly canceled my account. I have thought about checking it out again, but that pissed me off as a paying customer of 3+ years.

I'm looking forward to seeing the new Star Wars MMO myself. There's been a lot of discussion in the Star Trek Online community regarding SWTOR.

A lot of us don't like the "space on rails" system being put in that game, however. Myself being one of them.

I'm totally addicted to the STO style of space travel, which is very free flowing.

Like some of you, I've played WoW, tried Rift, and played LOTRO for a long time.

STO is far more fun than any MMO I've played to date. LOTRO was the next closest, but STO pretty much one ups it in every way.

I don't want to hijack this thread, so I'll start a new one and detail why I think it's time for people here to give STO another look.

See I'm ok with this. A space combat game and a land combat game are two different things with two different systems and probably two different game engines needed on that scale.

And I would rather the land combat/portion be more interesting than the space portion.

Has STO improved drastically since launch, or what? I really have no idea. I know that friends who played it then thought that it was terribly shallow and repetitive.

Why not have both? I think that when people get the chance to compare STO and SWTOR, Bioware will be forced to revamp the whole "space on rails" concept in favor of more free-flowing space travel and combat.

It's like they are two different games.

Feel free to check out my thread about STO for details.
