Any suggestions on what to do for lunch today? I'm at the big Spec's right now because my wife works for the company and she had to come into Houston for some training.

I have our dog with us and it is too hot to leave him in the truck for any period of time. Tell me something good and quick I can get around here.

Otherwise I'm going to the Which Wich right around the corner.

I went with Spec's today. Got an avocado, paperback cheese and jalapeno burger. It was pretty damn good.

Going to be around again tomorrow during lunch so I'll probably try one of these other places too.

Nit Noi has very reasonable daily specials and decent lunch food if you're into Thai/Asian.

Calliope's is good, but for someone from New Orleans I would not come to Houston for po boys. Is there any specific type of food that you like that you can't get in Nawlins? Lebanese, Thai, or even decent BBQ?

I'm actually living in Corpus Christi right now. Originally from Lake Charles though. When someone suggested the thai, I decided I wanted vietnamese today.

I just searched google and they have a couple of good rated pho places within three blocks or so of specs, so that's where I'll head.

Was thinking about Pho Saigon. What do you think?

Pho Saigon is good. Les Grival for banh mi.

Hub Cap Grill for a burger.

Hearsay on Travis is a gastro pub that has decent food I hear.

Calliope..but like someone else said, if I was from Louisiana, I wouldn't come looking for Louisiana food in Houston.

Cyclone Ayana-Tex Mex

Reef for seafood

Spec's

Ibiza

Lankford's for a burger

Latin Bites Cafe-Peruvian

Ninfa's on Navigation(not part of the Ninfa's chain)

Jeannine's Bistro for mussles and fries.
