Cans are a great choice. Much better than bottles.

Never had a good beer from a can. I include Oskar Blues stuff in that statement.

I tend to agree. It's cheaper for them though. They need to get their shite rolling.

I agree with your disagreement. What's the difference between having a beer out of a 12 oz aluminum can and a 15.5 gallon aluminum keg?

Pretty big difference actually.

Many cans are pasturized while kegs are typically not in the US. Many argue that alters the flavor.

Besides that my biggest problem with cans is that how many people do you see pour their beer out of a can into a glass to drink?

A bottle gives you a clean taste of the beer without imparting any external flavors. Drinking from a can gives you an aluminum taste.

Makes no sense to me.. You put your beer in a can so that the beer you sell doesnt get exposed to light and taste different to the customer.. However you just encouraged the customer to drink out of something that imposes a worse flavor than most beer in a bottle will ever have. Just package your beer correctly in the bottles and you shouldnt have anything to worry about.

True. Just pour the beer from the can into a glass.

BTW: I never do this though!

Thats my point.. Many brewers are wanting to can claiming its better for the beer.. Well if nobody is going to pour the beer into a glass I say you just made your beer worse not better.

Cans are a far superior packaging device because they have a much better seal allowing much less oxygen in, block out all light and are allowed in more areas like golf courses, mardi gras parades and the beach. Plus the taste is about the same.

The only thing I see the can idea being useful for is during football season & at parades. Here's the flaw in that thought: most people while tailgating go for quantity over quality, and Mardi Gras is only two weeks out of the year.

I dont agree with this at all.

Pour it out of the can into a glass then I would say this is true.

Kegs are better IMO but yes cans are better than bottles but ONLY better for the taste if you pour it out of the can.

I like the transportable and universally accepted nature of cans. These are excellent attributes to me.

Likewise, I really can't taste a lot of aluminum in canned beers like Dales. Perhaps because the flavor is strong and overpowers the aluminum taste. I never claimed to have a sensitive palate either.

If you have to have it portable Im ok with going with a can.. Im talking about walking into a store and buying a 6 pack to enjoy at home. Im going to walk right past all cans and look at the bottle selection.

I always pour my beer into a glass whether its a bottle or can. No matter what, I always taste the aluminum from a can. Maybe I just have a sensitive palate.
