You Tube of the Muddy Sand Boil

2nd & 3rd Boils

These 2 boils are new and are about 20 feet from the 1st, which has collapsed into a sink hole. Don't know if these 2 are the new "exit points" of the first.

This video was shot today, May 19th at about noon. Btw, DPW was out there as I was leaving.

About halfway through that video, I tried to pan around to get the sink hole. I'm not much of a videographer. Here are pics --

So I have to add you as a friend to see it?

eta: cant you just upload it to youtube?

eta: this was probably a bad idea. I've already found your daughter on facebook.

about 1000 feet from river back by Farr Park. The entire area had collapsed by Sunday into a sink hole about 10 by 12.

Hope you'll update this as time passes. I doubt I'll drive down there but it's gonna be interesting to see what happens.

If you mean media, no. If you mean authorities, then yes. DPW and the ACoE are supposedly aware of it. Plus Mary Landrieu and Kip were in the Farr Park area on Monday, and so pretty sure they saw it. The area is cordoned off with yellow tape. Someone put it there.

I'm calling BS untill i see a wider view (the yellow tape around the area, the 100's of sandbags, and the telephone pole in the middle of it all). I know exatly where your talking about. I was there 3 days ago an didn't see anything like that.

I dont doubt something is there but 1000 ft from the levee is pretty far for a sand boil. usually they are pretty close to the levee. Someone with knowledge of sand boils please correct me if I am wrong

The sand boil he is talking about is at the toe of the levee (where they typically are). Right across the levee from the economy/stone oil dock. It is about 1000 feet down river from Farr Park.

Ok, that is more like it.
when they start boiling up muddy water, it means the levee is trying to wash out and a very bad sign
