For the militay I used Kiwi in the tin with cotton balls making small swirls while sprinkling with water drops - then buff with a old t-shirt - then polish with your wifes/girfrinds old panty hose. This will make a high gloss mirror shine.

Now I just use a high quality Allen Edmunds polish with a cloth and buff with old t-shirt. Shiny but not mirror like as the above method.

Finish your soles with edge dressing.

I don't want to look like an honor guard soldier in civilian attire.

Shine shoes? I usually just find really old black men. They always carry that stuff with them.

Apply polish.
Work in polish by rubbing, medium pressure, in small quarter-sized circles with damp cloth (old tshirt works good) stretched over fingers. Emphasis on damp, btw.
Buff with brush using light to medium pressure.
Rinse.
Repeat.

Clean with saddle soap. Use brown or black shoe polish to cover any discolorations. Polish with mink oil.

Clean them with saddle soap first. Apply polish as directed on can. Wipe off and buff. It's not rocket surgery.

I dont need to get mine spit on but once every other month or so...i mean, i aint wearing them to the fricking rodeo or anything.

more than likely if you are wearing shoes that need to be shined, you are probably in an airport more than would like to be...so just toss the dude a few bucks while your fricking flight is delayed.
