I'll be there a week, possibly two for business. What's some good bars and restaurants in the city? Due to my extended stay, any type of cuisine and bar will due.

Mint, Julep, Char, Nagoya (sushi), Annie D's in brandon for some of the best fried chicken, Harrington's.

I would not recommend TICO's.

Kool Al's (formerly Stammp's Super Burgers) - Great Burgers. i believe southern living rated them as one of the best burgers in the south some years ago.
Cool Als

Keifer's - outstanding greek food and gyros. Plus they have a porch to sit out and drink a couple of pitchers of amber bock.
Keifer's

Mayflower- Great food in a unique setting

Elite- I haven't been, but I've heard good things.

Walker's Drive In- In my opinion, the best restaurant in Jackson.
Walker's

The Auditorium- A restaurant that used to be a school auditorium. The food is pretty good, but it's a good place to hang out if there is a band playing on the stage.

Everytime I go to Keifer's I go into a meat coma afterwards. Gyro, Pita Mozz, and way too much beer!

So good!

The only thing I know about Jackson is that I spent a couple of days there during Katrina visiting a sick relative and the food sucked. But what do I know?

Do we have to delve into that subject tonight?

Martin's would be a dive bar.

The problem with jackson is that all the bars are spread out over the city so there isn't one area where you can go.

I lived near Fenians, so we would always go there...it was fun.

the Bulldog there is decent. not as busy on weeknights as BR or NOLA.

Fenians is alright if you're looking to drink cheap and hang around a bunch of dudes.

I will say that the women that frequented Fenian's were not the best of breed. Having said that, it's not a bad place to get shitfaced and shoot the shite with friends.
