Bruce Arena doesn't think so, at least not yet. Arena is a bit of a dbag though, right?
Surely Portland vs Seattle will be near the top, these teams have been going at it in different forms since the NASL days. Any others come to mind?

Philly vs. any East Coast team

Hell the Sons of Ben probably hate the Rochester Rhinos too.

nothing that stands out and it's one of the many problems MLS has.

No enemy team, no rivalries, no bankable superstars etc...

all this parity so we can have even playoffs or something. The offshoot though, is this watered down league.

Gee, maybe cause a tiny percentage of people in each city even know their is an MLS team present in their city. I will give Seattle and Portland a nice big thumbs up though. Rivalries, in my opinion, is not a must have right now for this young league. As the league grows, and it is doing just that, rivalries will grow with it.

Sounders v Whitecaps, Sounders v Timbers, Timbers v White Caps (Cascadian Cup)

Chivas USA v Galaxy

Colorado Rapids v Real Salt Lake (Rocky Mountain Cup)

NYRB v NY Cosmos (when they come back)

You don't think the MLS has made bank off of Landon Donovan, Juan Pablo Angel, David Beckham, David Ferrara, Thierry Henry, etc ?

There are very few "true rivalries" in any American pro sports league.

Yep this is true. Yankees vs Red Sox might be one of the closest you can compare to Euro soccer clubs.

You left out Houston v Dallas who play for the El Capitán cannon. Both teams hate each other with plenty of yellows being handed out in most games and they even had a spitting incident in a preseason game back in February.

Bruce Arena also thought that Eddie Lewis and Bobby Convey would be viable options to play left back in World Cup 2006, despite never playing there in qualifiers.

AND

Thought that playing 9 v. 10 against Italy, when everyone on both teams are walking for the last 30 minutes, and you're still on the verge of winning the game, is probably not the right time to use your last substitute.

I can't even tell if this is sarcastic or not.

If this is serious, it's silly.

Would like to note that Beckham is the highest paid soccer player in the world, not by salary, but by endorsements.

it is serious. I like MLS, but I think Garber's insistence on parity is retarded and that it hurts the league.

Standings

Real Salt Lake is easily the best team in the league.

New York far and away the most talented team in the league, and probably the most talented team in the world for the pricetag.

The low salary cap was put into place to ensure the survival of the league. Without it, MLS would have collapsed before 2000.

As the league has grown, the shackles of the cap have slowly been removed. That will continue to happen as the league continues to grow, but you have to remember that the league lost 200 million dollars in its first 10 years.

I am aware of all of that, and I'm not saying that the league is doomed or anything like that.

More than anything i just hate when Garber talks about parity. Everytime I hear him say it, it just me think of someone who thinks he knows what fans want, but doesn't.

I would have to agree. I've been wracking my brain for something comparable but there just isn't.

Now in the NCAA's there definitely is.
