What will be the key lineup change this season?

A couple of years ago, Helenihi gets inserted late in the year and that sparked LSU in the post season.

Then it was Nola being inserted at SS.

Last year, it was Katz in LF.

Who will it be this year? Clearly it won't be Dozar, Cunningham, or Ware. Who's left?

I don't think we can write Spencer Ware off just yet, I meam he hadn't seen live pitching in five or six weeks and he's just supposed to go in the lineup and start hitting the ball all over the field! I still hope he can be a asset to this team the rest of the season

Anyone know if PM has said when Lowery would be able to play again?

Benching our 3rd base coach. Permanently.

None.

We don't have any depth.

Helenihi played in almost every game in 08 fwiw.

ETA: And he was up around .330 mid way through the season. He slumped down to .295 by the time the season was over and was becoming a liability.

Don't really know what you're talking about there.

Seriously you think this is our problem? Wrong! Thats the least of the problem as our 3rd base coach, a guy who basically throws batting practice and helps run practice does not have much influence on turning this team around.

Coach PM has done nothing but tried every combo with the lineup. At some point you have to think that this team is what it is and move on.

Correct, he started almost every game in RF. Coming into the 09 season, he was penciled in as the starting 3rd baseman. Hanover eventually beat him out and started 53 games at 3rd.

Helenihi was reinserted back at 3rd late in the year for his glove. That was the same season we made the switch to move Lemahieu to 2nd and insert Nola. My mistake, for some reason I thought those two situations happened in consecutive seasons.

Still doesn't solve our leadoff problem.

Maybe sub Ichiro for Kemp

Does anyone know what happened to (C) Jackson Slaid. He hit like .580 in high school and was considered to have an above average arm. With some of the weak at bats from the catcher position, I was wondering why he hasn't got a shot. Also, have any of our pitchers (Sam Peterson (C), Eades, Broussard, Berry) received at-bats and/or position assignments in practice. Just curious if someone with inside info might know.

Slaid is the bullpen catcher...he was given a chance to pinch hit in the Princeton loss and struck out looking on a full count iffy pitch. I think he has pinch hit once since.

Don't forget Dykstra.

Broussard might also be included for those who like longshots.

Helenihi didn't spark shite in 09. He was always good defensively.. even in 08 when he took over at 3rd for Hollander when he had that cyst.

His hitting was even worse in 09.
