Does LSU still have a Mini-farm?

I remember the talking tractors as a kid....little Ronnie would lose it in a place like that.

I don't so. I'm about to rant. Stuff related to your question at the end...
There isn't much interest in farm stuff anymore. Plenty of kids grow up in America these days with absolutely no idea how their food got on the plate. They just know it comes from the grocery store. Farming in America is a huge issue of national security, but you rarely hear about the crap the farmers are going through anymore. The system is a mess, and kids are no long educated about agriculture unless they are fortunate enough to learn outside of school. I did a ton of research on modern agriculture last semester, and it's kinda like a horror story...
Hopefully I'm wrong. I'm sure they still have the talking tractor, but as far as the whole mini-farm exhibit, I doubt it exists anymore.

There is the hill farm on campus, they also raise cattle near the ballpark. They also grow stuff at Burden off of Essen Lane and they have a Sugar Cane Research farm in St Gabriel.

Amen to your rant. It's insidious....some day we are really going to regret not passing on farming information to a younger generation. Geez....it's not like how you grow your own food is important.

I'm pretty sure I saw a banner on campus this morning that mentioned the mini farm...I'll see if I can find it again and post what it says

The mini farm no longer exist, they just use the building for events and such. As for the banner you saw it was probably for agmagic which they do once a year at the cow palace

The dairy store sells pork, beef, goat, lamb from the "farm"

Yea I saw it again, it had no details, it just said Mini-Farm randomly on the bottom of a thing about LSU libraries?... looked like it may have been a pretty old sign though

I have met people in college who have never seen a live cow...
