They do especial report, interupt programming for this news? As the special report screen comes up, I am thinking, Japan blew up, nuke in Libya, or something terrible.

A special report for Liz Taylor's death?

It's safe to say Liz Taylor in her prime puts today's Hollywood stars to shame.

I'd say that's pretty special-report-worthy. She's one of the most popular celebrities of the last 50 or so years, and was a pretty big deal back in the golden days of Hollywood.

I have way less of a problem with her death being a program-interrupting special report than some of the "celebrities" of today being one.

Liz Taylor, at one point, might have been the most famous person on the planet. RIP.

Time to watch old movies tonight.

In 1956, Elizabeth and Montgomery Clift were in Natchez, MS, filming scenes for Raintree County. On one location Elizabeth stumbled and hurt her ankle. A local physician (a relative of mine) was called to check her condition. When he arrived on the scene, first thing he did was pull his stethoscope out of his medical bag, saying "..better listen to your heart and make sure everything is OK." Turned out she just had a mild sprained ankle, but as the story spread the doc was the envy of every male in town.

RIP Liz.

He should have performed a breast exam to check for any lumps. You can never be too safe.

Now the question becomes who will be the next 2 celebs as these always come in 3's. Who's got money on Charlie Sheen, winning.

Liz also puts several of the late 50's Golden Girls to shame too. Apologies to anyone if one of these happens to be your mother or grandmother.

Did he say something like, "Excuse me while I whip this out."
