I hate that Lucy's is probably going to steal it again this year. Weren't they selling beer last year to raise so much money?

But yeah, I'll be there.

I talked to the main guys. Totally separate awards this year: Best Ribs, Best Pulled Pork, Whole Hog and Porkpourri (anything pork, get creative) Grand Champion must compete in 3 of 4. They have separate awards for Beast Sauce, Fundraising Award (most $ raised so Lucys would win this, though they cant sell beer this year I dont think) and best booth.

Apparently, many of the food trucks are doing non-pork food vending so running out of food shouldnt be an issue...

Is it still free to go w/ "donations" at the booths?

$10 cover in advance bc of the bands element...

I think that competitors may have a minimum to try to increase donations on samples.

It is a fundraiser so apparently they didnt make that much just handing it out essentially free last year...

Music line-up is damn strong. Honey island Swamp Band is going to be the next act from N.O. to make it nationally.

Thank God, this year they are separating out the fund raising vs. the cooking. A lot of people, us included, weren't too happy that Lucy's had a low food score, but won a championship cooking contest.

Not at our booth. We gave EVERYTHING away for free. People just gave whatever they wanted, if they wanted to donate via our booth.

We'll have plenty of food as a vendor. We haven't decided if we're competing as well, as the vending will keep us plenty busy.

We'll be vending:

Crawfish Pistolettes
Boudin Pistolettes
Fried Mac N' Cheese Balls
Smoked Jambalaya
Fried Eggplant w/ Crawfish Cream Sauce
BBQ Pulled Pork w/ Blue Cheese N' Cilantro Slaw
