Conference academic rankings

I found this on another site. One of the posters ranked the BCS conferences on average using the U.S. News and World Report college rankings. Contrary to what a lot of people think, the Big Ten wasn't the best academic conference and the SEC wasn't the worst. Here's the list.
Even without Nebraska, the Big Ten would still have been the #2 academic conference behind the ACC.

Stanford's football finish and overall academic finish were pretty impressive, and pretty close.

Big10 is still better top to bottom IMO, lowest ranked school this past year is 79. Pretty strong

I knew the ACC would rank higher than the Big Ten. There are some great academic institutions in that conference. I'll take being the second best academic conference overall.

Someone on the SEC rant a week or 2 ago put up something about what schools graduate athletes or like that. Not gonna look for the link but the Big X schools were far and away the best, like 5 in the top 10

I don't get why the SEC gets a bad rep for academics.
Pretty much ALL of the BCS schools are large, doctoral-granting research institutions. Depending on your program, you can get a damn good education at any of these schools.

I agree with this. However, I could go to the library and read books everyday and get a lot better of an education than most colleges could provide, but who really does this?
The point is, that a degree from Stanford is worth a lot more than a degree from Iowa and it should be.
