The last great DE was Spears and it looks like Big Sam in the future or Mingo. Maybe I'm forgetting someone recently but I can name 6 or 7 DT's. I just remembered another DE's Jarvis Green but hell that's been 10 years. What you guys got!!

Tyson Jackson.

Extremely athletic. Not really great though.

Montgomery will be All SEC before he's done and Mingo is going to be solid. Edwards was coming on late in the season and Adams is solid. Pittman was solid. Jackson, Spears, Hill, Oliver and Green all made it to the next level. Better DE's than most schools have seen in the last decade.

Saban always recruited 2 way DE. Meaning guys that can defend the run and pass. Miles for the most part has been the same way

the guys that get to the QB always standout more. But we've had some very good ones.

only recently with guys like Mingo has Miles really started going away from the 2 way guy and getting some fast guys off the edge.

Just beacuse a DE doesn't get a lot of sacks doesn't mean he wasn't good.

We never really had great pressure DE's. From what i've seen we try to get pressure from DT's or from the blitz. I think Sam will be an exception to that. He looks like the best pass rusher we have had in a long time.

Gabe Northern was a beast, but I guess that was too long ago to qualify for what you are looking for.

I think Mingo and Monty are going to be great pass rushers before they are done. Like someone said I don't know how much better you can get than a DE that was taken 3 overall

Yeah I forgot about Tyson Jackson never really impressed with him. I think the NFL was pumped about his size and speed but I don't think he is exactly lighting it up in KC either.

I call it the Jamarcus Russell syndrome. Scouts see all the physical tools but I think the fans see what the scouts don't "The Want" that is!!

tyson is doing what you want 2nd year pro players to do. improve from the first to second year. he will be a good 8 to 10 year pro with 1 or 2 pro bowls.

Jackson improved greatly in his 2nd year. Him and Dorsey were very good this year on a top notch NFL D-line.
