pop up in these searches?

I remember seeing it emerge somewhat in the ND search last year, when it was rumored that ND's list was Stoops, Kelly, and Edsall. It kind of surprised me then, even though I felt his style of football would be a good fit at ND.

He is a solid coach without question, but I am surprised that his name pops up in reference to Miami and Florida. I guess I can't see him as a fit at those schools.

That is a concern. But I'm not sure that he's had the chance to do that given who they typically schedule. He beat South Carolina in the bowl game last year, pretty easily. Not sure if he's faced any other SEC teams.

He has done a solid job of coaching UConn.

Also handled the situation well when a player from South Florida on the UConn team was killed.

he has never lost less than 3 games in a season, and only lost 3 once. all in a shitty, no-depth conference. he might coach well, but IMO, hes in no position to take over a big time program with big time expectations.

Its funny that you say this, but this is EXACTLY the type of coach that LSU would hire, given our recent track record. Think about it:

Saban - Mich St. - head coach with a decent/mediocre record at a second-tier BCS conference school

Miles - Okie St - same thing

LSU would totally make an Edsall type hire if Miles leaves.

He has a recruiting base worse than District 9 2-A in Louisiana. The dude can flat out coach.

He may be the best player development coach in America. He develops lesser rated high school kids into NFL players.

Maybe you should look at threads mentioning him by me in the past few weeks. The guy can coach and really doesn't have that much talent in his recruiting area

There's a reason his name keeps surfacing for these big name jobs. In the right sItuation the guy would be a beast.

Taking a program from 1-AA to a BCS game. Clearly has no idea what he's doing
