Stats and a question on the LSU passing game

I seldom start a topic, but I would love to see if one of the stats gurus out there could offer something on this:
In looking up some info on LSU's 2010 passing stats (to see passer ratings), I was startled to see that LSU only threw 7 TD passes the entire year. I knew the number was low but I did not realize it was that low. 4 by JJ, 2 by JL, and 1 by Spencer Ware.
LSU put the ball in the air 280 times, or 23.3 times per game, so it is not as if LSU was an "option team" that seldom ever throws the ball.
So, this got me wondering: have any non-option teams - perhaps defined as teams that throw at least 15 passes per game - ever been so unproductive in terms of putting up TD passes? If so, how common is this and how far back do you have to go? And did any of these teams win many games? LSU managed a 10-2 season despite getting only 6 TD tosses from the Qb's!

You're just finding this out?
Yes, we suck horse cock offensively

And all of this says to me..........
LSU was a qb & OC away from a NC. 10 wins in the SEC WITHOUT a qb & OC, that is remarkable. People wondered how Ridley beat out Ingram for SEC awards, they just need to look at the LSU offense to see the answer. 7 td passes for a non-option oriented offense is unforgivable, especially with the offensive talent on this team, minus the qb & oc.

Those people would be idiots. How Ridley accomplished what he did without the support of a passing threat speaks volumes about his talent. Imagine what he could have done if LSU had even a decent passing offense.

Just imagine what LSU could have done with quality QB play and a quality OC. 6 TD passes from your QBs all year is a complete joke and should be grounds for immediate termination.

Every time I see a stat line that says a QB for another team threw 5 TD's in one game, I just sigh.

I have had similar thoughts. 6 TD passes in one hell of a game but startlingly dreadful for a season's worth of work by two QB's.

Texas.
Gilbert only threw 10 TDs this year. 37.1 pass attempts per game. They went 5-7.

Sorry, this one all falls on JJ. When Lee moved the team, he got pulled in the RZ, and split far less than half the snaps in just 3 games.

Let's get rid of Crowton and see what kind of offense we could put together. It would be fun to see a new guy with an open playbook come here to be the OC.

Of course, it falls much more heavily on JJ; he got the vast majority of the snaps. But there are PLENTY of backups who toss 2 TD's in a season. Regardless of how you come down on JJ/JL, a total of 6 TD's is crazy low for the entire QB position for a whole year.
