Miami had a better than 90% graduation rate and Vanderbilt didn't. ...............

This is another reason why I like Miles leading this program

Hmmm. I don't see Nick Saban's Alabama on there. What happened to caring about the kid's future?

Just kidding.

I'm proud of LSU and Les Miles. He runs a clean program and graduates his players. That is a great recruiting tool as well for the future of the program.

Do the graduation rates include juniors who declare early? It shouldn't really be an indictment on graduation rates if a kid realizes it's a smarter business decision to take the $30 million and run...

Vanderbilt eliminated academic loopholes years ago. For years football players took ridiculously easy courses at Peabody College although they were enrolled at Vanderbilt. Once Vandy annexed Peabody, all of this changed. If anything, the coursework at Vandy has become more challenging for athletes damaging our once 90+% graduation figures. Take a look at athletes' majors at Miami and you'll see what I mean.

Miami had a better than 90% graduation rate and Vanderbilt didn't

Situation: a kid from a disadvantaged background, with poor grades adn ACT scores, was looking at both schools; which school would give him a better chance of graduating in the five years they would allow?

This is like saying it is easier to stay eligible at Capitol Academy than at Catholic High!

At one time kids transferring and leaving early counted against you. They took the kids that you signed and 4 years later the kids that graduated and that was your percentage. Say you signed 20 and four years later you had 10 remaining then you were at 50%. Do not know if the same now??? Cause Basketball can get killed by everyone leaving early and no one left to graduate.
