that we allowed ole miss to score that many points and move the ball on us that well

Its one thing if they were actually good but this is a team that was dominated by Tenn and yet they manage to score that many on us, what happened?

Spread offense with a good QB. Doug Moreau said during the game call Ole Miss scared him more than R Kansas. We looked like crap defensively.

masoli played a good game. looked a lot better than vs tenn. you could blame the concussion or whatever for tenn but he looked like a different qb

plus quite a lot of missed tackles

Missed tackles all game. Masoli made some pretty good throws. And on Ole Miss' last TD, their receiver got inexplicably open... they never really showed how that happened on a replay, since they were harping on the celebration penalty.

I'd say they pretty much kept us off balance all night...leading to big chunks of yardage on plays. Looked like Nutt watched the film of our game vs. Auburn about 500 times

Chavis has bad problems coming up with the proper scheme to stop a certain type of offense, although some people seem stubbornly unable to accept this. To them it will always be "missed tackles" and "the players didn't execute" no matter what.

Granted, we have a very bad D-line at stopping the run based on physical attributes, but Chavis has not been able to come up with a scheme to work around this. LSU should not be the 10th-worst team in the SEC on defense in terms of yards per carry allowed.

you could tell the defense was not interested. It looked like some of them were even joging at times. Masoli looked like a pinball off our defense.

It's been a problem all year long. Poor technique. Today it almost cost LSU the game.

It was a little bit of both. Masoli and that offense threw us off for sure.

It wasn't just missed tackles. It's that same spread option bullcrap that Auburn ran all over us. Our speed and agressiveness just don't match up well with it at all. Completely out of position and slow to react not knowing where the ball was most of the time. Just a step behind in general. Because of this I think we match up quite well with Arky.

We also make no effort to disguise blitzes. This is something we will have to do better. But I still like our defensive matchup better against Arkansas than teams with mobile QBs like Auburn and Ole Miss.

Masoli played an awesome game for sure. That was the most inspired effort I've seen by an opposing player in Tiger Stadium in quite some time. He played like a man possessed.

That said, our defense was still doing stupid things. I'm sick of seeing the fricking nickel defense against running teams.

Missed tackles were not the problem. We did a horrible job keeping contain on the outside. DEs and LBs got sucked in too much. We weren't slow to react, we just dind't stay disciplined. Ole Miss coaches also deserve credit for calling a great game.

im going to have to watch the replay to see but it probably was a combo of both

for some reason Chavis and the d has trouble against shitty offenses, its like they just assume they will suck and dont worry about preparing that week

Missed tackles were definitely a problem. They may not be the only problem but the tackling was piss poor.

Look at the plays again, the tackling was really not that bad. Bolden was not touched on his long run. Masoli wasn't touched until the 5 yard line on his TD run. The long TD pass was a blown coverage by Reid. Yes, we had some missed tackles but it wasn't anything horrible.

Looked pretty shoddy to me.
