So if Au doesn't lose to UGA, but they drop one to Bama...

And to SC or FLA in the SECCG. Do we jump the 2 undefeated non-BCS teams?

Yes. But we need to drag Arky and Ole Miss to impress the human voters. And we need UNC and/or WVU to win their conference

No way we pass TCU. It would be tough to pass Boise

Seriously doubt it. The human voters hatred for Les won't give us the votes we need to get us in the top 2.

Would probably need Boise or TCU to lose as well. Not going to happen.

Until someone can beat the SEC in the national title game, the top ranked SEC team should automatically qualify for that game.

We can't jump TCU. Their computer ranking is better than ours.

I do think we can jump Boise State if we get close enough to them in the human polls.

i think we would pass boise. especially if we could get to number 5 in the polls. after that it would be tough without teams losing. tcu is very high in the computers and we wont jump them in the human poss

This is the most possible way for us to get to the BCS championship again. It is still unlikely. The other situation would be where we win out and AU wins out and then are declared ineligible and have to forfeit all their games, leaving us undefeated. This is an even less likely.

I think that at least one of TCU, Boise or Oregon will have to lose, also. That might be the wedge we need in the human polls to grab the #2 BCS spot by the tiniest of margins. If Auburn drops the Iron Bowl and the SEC-CG and we simply defeat Ole Miss and Arkansas, I'm confident we're the Computer #1.

It will be close, and many other game results over the next three weeks will factor in (especially Miss State, WVU and UNC).

Might could pass a #2 Boise if LSU is #3, but it is impossible to pass an undefeated TCU. 2/3 BCS human polls >>> 1/3 computer poll + TCU is ahead of LSU in both.

Even if AU gets beat by Bama, they still make SEC CG, if they win that, they probably still in NC game.

1 loss SEC champ (AU or outside chance of LSU) goes to NC imo.

Getting a little Germans...

Boise - maybe
TCU - probably not

Don't discount a 1-loss Big Ten champ or a 1-loss Big 12 champ to get poll love to keep a non-champ LSU out. It's not an anti-LSU bias. We benefitted from this sentiment in 2007.

I think the SEC champ will get nearly any benefit of the doubt due to the track record.

How many ways can you play what if? It doesn't matter because you can't affect it. Just let the season play out.

Meh - it can be fun discussion. Would you rather breakdown ULM instead?

A little? Try a lot and this being the umpteenth frickin' thread about it.

How about one thread...stickied...BCS Scenarios and be done with it.

You're right on this

Howver, the premise is - Auburn beats UGA, but loses to Bama AND the SEC-CG. They're out then, and people are having fun speculating as to how LSU gets in with just 1 loss. It also keeps it open, if Auburn beats UGA.

What will be somewhat trickier is if they beat both UGA and BAMA, then LOSE the SEC-CG - I have no idea what will happen. Does Auburn get in over LSU? We will be #1-#2 in the Computers (I believe), though maybe not by much.
