Ridley Runs Better with Lee in the Game (One game sample)

Pumped for the win. Excited in the talent the Tigers have. Impressed with our defense and the potential in our offense.
That being said. I'm sick of people saying that one of the positives to playing Jefferson is that Ridley performs better. Here is the carry breakdown for Ridley with both Jefferson and Lee taking the snaps:
Jefferson
6 yds (2 carries)
9 yds (3 carries)
0 yds (1 carry)
4 yds (2 carries)
-1 yd (1 carry)
15 yds (3 carries, JJ takes sack, series over)
4 yds (2 carries)
2.6 yds/carry
Lee
29yds (5 carries)
1 yd (next play TD to Toliver)
16 yds (4 carries)
3 yds (2 carries)
-3yds (2 carries)
3.2 yds/carry
I'm not saying JJ shouldn't see the field at all. He did score it twice within ten yards (after Lee led them down the field). Just don't justify JJ's playing time by lying about what happened in the game.
ETA: Better, more in-depth analysis here.

The problem with JJ is that the defense can key almost solely on the run. With JJ in the game there are two, sometimes three, different running options. However, we can not throw the ball very efficiently. With JL they have to respect the play action, and the run. It opens the field for SR.

I saw JJ throw a pretty good ball yesterday. I didn't think he looked very 1 dimensional yesterday at all.

I saw his first 2 completions being tipped, less than an inch away from being picked... then I saw him get picked. I saw him overthrow a wide open reuben randall after he waited too long to throw it and threw the wrong pass that almost led to his second interception of the game. The same play that Lee connected for 60 yds vs Tenn the same play that rr was wide open again. JJ is not an SEC, or even a top 25 school qb. His added "run threat" isn't even on par with real scrambling quarterbacks... or need i remind you he was recruited as prostyle.

What he said.
Also, the wide open miss of DeAngelo Peterson on third down.

See the other thread for my argument that we should include JJ's numbers.
He was running an option read. Either one read is open or the other. Florida sold out to stop the backs last night, so JJ kept the ball a lot.
He ended up with 42 yards on 11 carries and 2 TDs.
This gives the JJ-led offense 80 total yards rushing on 25 carries for an average of 3.2 yards per carry.
Oh...and did I mention the 2 TDs?

I linked to the other thread.
How did we get in position to score those touchdowns? Which QB led us down the field?
I am NOT arguing that Jefferson shouldn't see the field. Just that he shouldn't be the man when we need to drive down the field. If we get the ball at the fifteen on a turnover, shite, put him in. But give me an instance in yesterday's game where he successfully drove us down the field for a touchdown. Any instance.

Minus the zone read out of shotgun, everyone knows JL isnt going to keep it around the end and the riddler gets smashed. Perfect play with JJ in there, not JL

Then why even run the read option with Lee in there. Run straight pro-style running plays. It's that simple or tell Lee to keep it. PERIOD.
It's poor play calling and reeks of Miles forcing that play call.
Crowton wasn't a big read option guy before.

This. Either stop calling it, or have Lee keep in every now and then.

Well at this point everyone is in the "box" anyway

JJ is now where near the QB that JL is.

There is a thread about this already. Also, ridley ran better with JJ in the game against Tenn.

based on 2 big runs. Take those out and it was a .2 ypc difference.
