I'm taking the Anfield tour next week

No, but it's probably going to take forever, Liverpool are really proud of their history. Take a camera for the trophy room and have fun.

there is a pub that is at the base of the stadium that i went to on a match day (i couldn't get tickets) but it was awesome

I've taken it and it's awesome. If you're not a fan I don't know how great it will be though. Should still be pretty cool. Wait til you see their locker room.
As for pubs there are a bunch in the area, there isn't really one that stands out.
