He announced his retirement in front of LSU background? He has been one of the greats, I think he still had a couple of years left in him. It is a shame he got backballed for being the head of the union.

For those not in the loop, Kevin Mawae retires.

Kevin Mawae, a 16-year veteran of the National Football League and current President of the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) will conduct a press conference today in Nashville.

Mawae, a former three-time All-Southeastern offensive lineman at LSU who currently serves as a strength and conditioning intern for the Vanderbilt football squad, will address the media at 4 p.m., from the Vanderbilt Marriott.

But yeah, it's obvious the owners are blackballing him out of the league.
He could still play. He was in last season's fricking pro bowl man. Damn owners...

Wir Wissen

Someone should have stickied the first thread on this from this morning.

He would be a hell of an OL coach for LSU.

If he coaches at the same level as he played he would be awrsome!

Watch the awkwardness with Les when he received a framed #52 jersey. He said something about hoping we turned the ballover. I guess he has family that plays for Vanderbilt.
