Exactly.

Not to mention that more or less (whether it's true or not) it was viewed by many as a potential National Semifinal for Boise.

That doesn't seem as high as the numbers for USC-Ohio State last year. Then again, since when does espn get info right?

OSU-USC was 10.6 million viewers. Boise-VT (according to that link) was 7.3 million households (obviously, multiple people typically watch in a household), so it's likely it had more viewers.

This number will only stand until the BCS games now that ESPN will be showing them.

Unless of course the Rose stays on ABC

Unfortunately, ESPN isn't going away anytime soon. They keep getting higher and higher ratings. It won't be long before they have the rights to every major sporting event there is.

Keep in mind that it was on a Monday night, when no other game was on.

That is why NFL monday night football is so popular. It has no competition.
