Anyone been here? If so, how is it? Also, can they accommodate large parties?

Thanks in advance!

I guess you are referring to the one on Coursey? I went twice. It wasn't half as good as the one in D.S. The one in D.S., however, is no longer Fernando's. It is now Papi's Fajitas. It is decent. I think LaTiendita is much better, though.

I am. And, I guess I should qualify that it doesn't have to be the best Mexican. I'm mainly trying to make sure it is decent food with a fun atmosphere for a birthday dinner. Does it meet those qualifications?

It is good for a large birthday party gathering. The salsa is quite good, and there are always draft/ margarita specials. For what you seem to be hunting, Fernando's will suffice.

Yea, I agree. The food is very uninspired. They have a pretty large area around the bar that can be open air when the weather is nice.

I always thought of that place as more as a bar that served food rather than a restaurant.

Fernando's took a moderately nice abandoned Zippy's location, and ghetto-fied it. Created an tacky eyesore in an otherwise solid stretch of the Coursey corridor.

What is it with Mexicans and Asians, and Indians,etc..taking buildings like it, and mixing in a bunch of cheap Walmart grade pastels of Miami Dolphin meets Bollywood yack? Adding cheap carpentry smeared in f@gly paint?

Re:
A)Indians turning an lackluster BR hotel off very visible Acadian corridor into a pineapple via plenty of blown misinterpreted dough.

B) An aging Taco Bell off Sherwood, turned into an an even uglier place via TacoBurritoExpress's "improvements".

C)The Indian podiatrist uglying up that abandoned building off Picardy, painting everything mustard or madras, with accompanying Bollywood fountains and landscaping to the streetfront.

D) Chateau Rouge taking a solid old brick building, adding hideous raspberry fascia and tacky LED tree.

Etc..

Fernando's is not Mexican-owned.

You don't like the paint job, don't eat there.

Stick to all-American restaurants that match the neighborhood.
