Not surprised. They have some nice deer there. You in a club or have some private land?

What do you think the big deer will score?

140ish. Looks like he's 16-17" wide, has decent mass, and excellent main beams & tine length.

Only 1 eye gaurd which makes him an 8 pt?

He is a 9 point but his brows are weak. I think he will go in the low 140's. It's hard to score them in velvet.

I hunt between Natchez and Port Gibson. The deer in this area seem to have below average brow tines..

I killed a big 9 point last year that had 7 inch brow tines but for the most part the deer usually have fairly short brows. Are you near Alcorn St?

I wish I had a picture of a deer my grandpaw killed a few years ago in Port Gibson. It was a huge 6 point, no brow tines at all.

Balls,

You are correct about the inferior browtines on our deer. I got a very nice buck on camera this past week with excellent spread, beam and tine length, but the fella barely has 2" brow tines.

This deer was taken in natchez and many others taken on the same property have very big browtines like this.
