Link For The Recipes And Voting.

They have 12 recipes, one submitted by each SEC school... and I think it would be a damn shame if anyone other than LSU won a tailgating cookoff contest sponsored by a Louisiana product!

So, check it out, please vote if you have time! And vote often, this is a good crooked politics style voting apparently.

I think you might have to click on the video for your vote to count...

*disclaimer, yes, I know the guy who submitted the LSU recipe.

Absolutely need LSU in the final two! In addition to being a Louisiana product...the "final round" cook-off will be at the LSU/Ole Miss game on our campus, it's only right that LSU is repped. Jay's a great guy and has an awesome blog!

Exactly. It would be a damn shame not to have the LSU recipe in the finals at least.

Wow some of the entries should be embarrassed.

MSU with a hotdog/hamburger slider?

And UGA with a salsa? seriously...

Would have liked to see the LSU entry be more in line with Louisiana cooking but doesnt sound bad..

Anyone ever inject blackberry into pork? Does it affect the color?

not sure, but it actually sounds like it could be really good....esp if it is done in the oven, or just on the pit but not much smoke. Will a smoke be a weird combo with the blueberry/blackberry?

Either way, his recipe sounded better than the others.

Well you shouldnt have a powerful smoke flavor in pulled pork anyways. It should be a mild smoke flavor.

I think the combo of pork and blackberry sounds interesting and would work but I wouldnt want to try it if Im going to have pork with a strange look to it.

Wonder how it goes with a spicy rub though.

No way I would inject this without running through a fine mesh sieve first though.

ill vote for dude, but there is no way in hell i would ruin a perfectly good boston butt with some blackberries. i guess if might be good, but the combination doesnt sound appealing to me.

pork and fruit is fairly common, esp figs, apples, set. Blueberry and blackberry glazes/sauces also work well on pork. I've never seen it injected.

I could see maybe mixing some apple juice and maybe a tiny bit of cherry juice into an injection..

Im curious about the bourbon blackberry but I think I would want to try it first before I took 12 hours on it myself.

If it makes the meat change in color though I wouldnt touch it. If it s subtle flavor it may be good since I want to still taste the pork. Pulled pork is all about the flavor from the pork fat with some slight smoke.

Of the recipes listed though its certainly the most intriguing of the bunch.
