Just saw on Rivals that he is only a soft commitment at this time to Bama. I think with Frank and Billy on the job they might be able to still get him to LSU. I hope so I just think he is to good of a talent to pass up. If not am ok with Rivers he will be a great QB for us when it is all said and done.

He doesn't want to come here. If Fla or ND offered he'd still jump at those before LSU.

I don't understand Ely at all... maybe Bama looks good now. But everyone and his brother knows that 2012 QB Jameis Winston already has an offer from Bama, lives in Bama, has been a big Bama fan. Ely might find himself the next Chris Leak, spending more time on the bench his junior and senior years than playing time.

Be excietd about Rivers I know I am. I have been excited about Ely for months and after we got Rivers commitment I didnt care anymore.
I feel good Lee staying and Rivers developing.
Even if he wanted to come here.He sort of burnt that bridge with me. he chose Bama 1st. let him go. I wish him the best. but from what I here this upand coming qb he will be transferring out in 2 years.
Rivers is going to be great for us and we can use those schollies on GR, OBjr, JR, and others.

Leak was the starter both his JR and SR seasons at Florida. Swing and a miss on that one.

Look a couple of pOst down Bammer fan have been raving over this kid named Jamie Winston a 2012 QB supposedly this kid will be a blue chipper next year. Thats why Ely was talking about champioship caliber and not afraid of competition.

Hopefully we get started on recruiting another QB for next year early.

QB recruiting is a chess game. Ely will be sandwiched between McCarron and Winston (most likely) and will struggle for playing time there. But you never know about injuries or other attrition.
LSU will be fine without another QB in the '11 class if....big if..Z Lee does indeed stay and Rivers commit sticks. But, QB would be top priority for 2012 recruiting.
